Change is hard but “transformation” can be even harder and most transformation projects fail to deliver the returns that they should. In order to deliver a successful transformation, you need to lead people to an entirely new state, not just create an “improved” department or function with faster systems that generate better data. As such, leaders of transformation need to be visionaries who are able to guide and grow their people but these are skills that can’t simply be taught in a classroom. Lining up leadership development with your project or business aims will be key to implementing the right solution.
